Q the Holy Spirit, the Breath

From πνεῦμᾰ (pneûma, “breath, vital force, soul”) + ἅγῐος (hágios, “holy”), a calque of Hebrew רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ‎ (rúach hakódesh).

Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον

Hebrew text has no punctuation, and originally had no spaces between words. The final forms were introduced so readers could differentiate between words. Consider the first two words in the Bible: בראשית ברא (bera'shiyth bera, meaning "In the beginning" and "created"). Without spaces, this could be read as three words: ברא שית ברא (bera shiyth bera, meaning "created", "to set in place" and "created" with gematria values of 203, 710 and 203 respectively. The word שית (shiyth) is also translated as "made" (Strongs H7896). On the fourth day of creation, God made two great lights, and set them in the firmament (Gen 1:16-17):

the greater light (המאור הגדל) has a gematria value of 294
the lesser light (המאור הקטן) has a gematria value of 416
294 + 416 = 710 (shiyth, "to set in place")
